Breathtaking landscapes, majestic series of mountains, surreal beaches, and awe-inspiring natural views. These are the words that come to mind when we think about Iceland. This small Nordic Island is located below the Arctic Circle. It is that one mysterious and mystic places that you cannot help but notice.

The rising trend of globalization helped it gain the recognition it deserved. Hang on a little longer and let us take you on an incredible journey to the worldly heaven that is Iceland!

1) The Northern Lights:

This mesmerizing dancing hue of green light forms when the solar wind strikes highly charged electrons in Earth’s upper atmosphere. It is seen in dark and clear skies between September to mid-April. Drawing the attention of both researchers and laymen alike, this is truly out worldly phenomenon. Its last peak activity was recorded in 2014, and the next is predicted in 2025. We would suggest you plan a trip this time around so you don’t miss out on this dazzling wonder!

2) Geothermal Lakes:

The most iconic geothermal pool in Iceland ― The Blue Lagoon, is in Reykjavik. This milky blue, rich in minerals ― especially silica, hot spring is surrounded by a lava field. The water temperature is around 99–102 °F (37–39 ℃). This natural bathing spot is also a micro diverse ecosystem inhabiting many species of algae and bacteria. Recent studies suggest that dipping in this exotic water body can prevent premature skin aging and boost skin barrier function.

3) The Golden Circle:

If we tell you, you can see magnificent erupting volcanoes, gorgeous waterfalls, and dramatic geysers all in one day. Will you believe us? If not, then you are here for a treat! The first stop is Pingvellir Park. Its extravagant features lead to its inclusion as UNESCO World Heritage Site. The next stop is the Great Geyser in Haukadalur Valley, whose emerging steam can be seen from great distances. Gullfoss Waterfall with its enchanting rainbows is the last destination.

4) The Never Setting Sun:

Iceland is literally located on the top of the Earth. Due to its geographical location, the sun sets at midnight only for a brief moment and then rises again thereafter. This unique phenomenon is evident in summers ― from mid of May to the end of July. This out-of-world experience is ideal for explorers who like to be on the go at all times. The peace and quiet of midnight combined with broad daylight make it an excursionist’s heaven!

5) The Icelandic Whales:

This Nordic island is surrounded by water that is home to over 20 species of whales. The whale watching industry is on the boom in Iceland. The probability of seeing these majestic beasts here is way higher when compared to other similar sites from all over the globe. The ideal time for taking this trip is in summer. Apart from the numerous species of whales, tourists can also see sharks, dolphins, and migratory birds.

Final Verdict:

Iceland appears quite frankly to what a garden in Eden would look like. Its picturesque natural phenomenons, scenic mountains, poetic waterfalls, and roaring volcanoes set it apart from the rest of the world. Icelanders’ hospitality and their fresh cuisine are literally the cherry on top!
